UPS Charges Unreasonable Fees for a $7 Gift Shipment

I recently encountered an outrageous issue with UPS regarding a New Year’s gift sent by my employer in Hong Kong. After working with this company for 10 years, they asked for my address to send a token gift, valued at just $7. However, UPS insists the package is subject to customs clearance fees, despite never opening the package to verify its contents.
When I questioned UPS about how they determined the item required customs clearance, they provided no clear explanation. It seems like a tactic to unjustly impose exorbitant charges. They are demanding several thousand liras under the guise of "ordinance and brokerage fees" for a $7 item.
This situation feels like an outright exploitation of customers. I demand that UPS address this issue immediately and stop charging such unreasonable fees. Such practices are unacceptable and should be investigated to protect customers from being taken advantage of!
Hello, I am still waiting for UPS to perform its duty. I have given up on the gift; a person would call and apologize. I say the item that arrived is a gift, and they ask what's inside. I say I don't know, it's a gift. They ask where the invoice is. ;) It's like a comedy movie. Someone should come out and tell UPS that people send gifts to each other during the new year, please.
