Toyota CHR Hybrid 2024 Cabin Filter Downgraded at Service

I recently took my Toyota CHR Hybrid 2024 to Ankara Toyan Toyota Service for its 15,000 km scheduled maintenance. After the service was completed and I received the car back, I decided to check the cabin air filter myself. What I found left me shocked: the original part removed was a high-quality carbon filter, but the newly installed part was a standard paper filter.
The difference in quality between the two is substantial. When I called the service center to ask why the replacement wasn’t the same as the original, they said, “Toyota Turkey instructed us to do so.” That’s unacceptable. If I brought in a vehicle equipped with a carbon filter, it should have been replaced with the same type, not a cheaper, lower-quality alternative.
To make matters worse, I was charged over ₺800 for the paper filter—yet it doesn’t even perform the same function. Carbon filters offer better filtration, especially for pollutants and odors, while paper filters simply don’t compare.
I’m extremely disappointed by this service experience. I will not return to this service center, and I hold you responsible for violating warranty expectations by installing substandard parts.
