Tesla Refuses to Refund My Pre Order Fee for Model Y Cancellation

On February 10, 2025, at 16:39, I placed a pre-order for a Tesla Model Y (Order number RN123780180) through your website by paying ₺50,000 with my Halkbank credit card. I made this order under the impression that delivery would take 2 to 3 months. However, my order was approved the next day, and I was contacted for payment. I explained that I could not make the payment so soon, as I had already sold my vehicle below market value but was struggling to find a buyer due to the slow market. I requested the cancellation of my order and a refund of the pre-order fee. However, I was told that the fee could only be refunded if my credit was not approved. Believing my application would be rejected due to my high payments and low income, I applied for credit, but it was immediately approved. I do not have the financial means to repay this loan. You stated that my order was processed quickly because I purchased a vehicle from your existing inventory. As a customer, I had no way of knowing this process or the available options. The vehicle assigned to me was not custom-produced or shipped specifically for me but was at your Ankara dealership due to a previous order cancellation. Therefore, fulfilling my cancellation request would not cause Tesla any financial loss. To uphold the reputation of such a major brand and maintain customer satisfaction, I kindly request the refund of the ₺50,000 pre-order fee. According to Article 13, Clause 4 of the Regulation on the Trade of Motor Land Vehicles published in the Official Gazette on August 27, 2024, buyers have the right to cancel their order within 14 days without providing a reason or incurring a penalty. In light of this regulation, I request an amicable resolution to prevent any unnecessary financial burden on Tesla and to protect the brand’s reputation. As I am unable to proceed with the vehicle loan and remaining payment, I ask for the cancellation of the sale and a full refund of the pre-order fee.
