Tesla Promised a Wall Connector Gift but Refused to Deliver It After Delaying My Car
In November, I placed a pre-order for a Tesla vehicle with the intention of registering it under my company in 2024 to benefit from tax advantages. On December 23, I was informed that the vehicle couldn’t be delivered in time and would instead arrive in the first week of February. To make up for the delay, Tesla promised to cover my Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV) and gift me a Wall Connector.
Fearing a price increase in 2025, I requested a price lock. They said I had to make full payment before the end of 2024 to secure it. I couldn’t complete the transaction within three days due to company loan limitations, so I lost both the price lock and tax advantage and had to register the vehicle under my own name.
When I went to pick up the car, Tesla refused to give me the Wall Connector they had promised as compensation for the delay. My representative, Ms. R****, said the gift wasn’t recorded in the system and wasn’t applicable if the car wasn’t bought under a corporate account or the price wasn’t locked.
Since then, I’ve tried multiple times to speak with someone in charge, but all I get are vague answers and promises of callbacks that never happen. Tesla acted like they were offering this gift to ease frustration over delays, but now it seems it was just a tactic to keep customers quiet until delivery.
Tesla, honor your promises. You delayed my car by months, stripped me of my tax benefits, and then backed out of the one thing you offered in return. I expect you to deliver the Wall Connector you committed to.
