Tesla Model S Repair Bill Jumps From $1,348 to Over $40,000
After my Tesla Model S began displaying various warning messages, I contacted Tesla Service through the Tesla app and received a repair estimate of 65,843 Turkish lira on April 17, 2026. I approved the estimate and delivered my vehicle to the Tesla service center. However, after the vehicle was handed over, I was told that the battery also needed to be replaced, and I was sent a new estimate for 1,374,500 Turkish lira.
Because of this excessive increase, I obtained an independent expert report and challenged the charge. The expert report clearly stated that the issue was caused by improper work performed by the Tesla service center. Nevertheless, believing that the legal process would take a long time, I tried to find a settlement and requested that the battery be replaced at a discounted price. After I made this request, I was then told that, in addition to the battery, the rear motor also needed to be replaced, increasing the estimate to 1,954,873 Turkish lira.
At this point, I am being asked to pay a repair cost that exceeds the market value of my vehicle. Since no one other than Tesla can perform these repairs, I am effectively being forced to bear this disproportionate cost while also being left without my vehicle for an extended period. Furthermore, despite the expert report stating that the damage resulted from a service error, I see no indication that this finding has been reflected in my favor in any way.
As a customer who owns both a Tesla Model S and a Tesla Model Y, I cannot accept an approach that demands such excessive repair costs, shifts the consequences of a service error onto the customer, and treats the customer with such disregard. Taking the expert report and the current service process into consideration, I request that the amount being charged be reduced to a reasonable level, that any costs resulting from the service center's error not be passed on to me, and that my losses and inconvenience be resolved as soon as possible.
