Tango Verification Fails With South African ID Book, Funds Locked

I am a Tango user based in South Africa, and I have been unable to verify my identity or access my funds because the application only accepts an ID card, passport, or driver’s license. I only have a South African green ID book, which is still a valid and widely recognized identification document in South Africa, but Tango does not provide this as an option during the verification process.
On April 3, 2026, I attempted to complete the identity verification through the app using my South African ID book. However, the system does not allow me to select this document type or proceed further. As a result, I am completely blocked from withdrawing or accessing my funds, despite having valid identification.
I reached out to Tango through the in-app support system to explain my situation and request guidance, but I have not received any response. This lack of support is very concerning, as my funds remain inaccessible while I wait for assistance.
I request that Tango clearly explain how I can verify my identity using my South African ID book or provide an alternative solution such as manual verification. Additionally, I strongly urge them to consider adding the South African ID book as an accepted document type so that users like me can access their funds without unnecessary barriers.
