If a flight is delayed, the airline is required to provide passengers with certain services.
Service Rules During a Delay:
Delay of more than 2 hours:
You are entitled to free drinks (water, tea, juice).
The opportunity to make 2 phone calls or send an email.
Delay of more than 4 hours:
Southwind Airlines must provide meals (e.g., meal vouchers).
Delay of more than 6 hours or if the flight is postponed to the next day:
The airline must provide hotel accommodation and transportation to and from the hotel and airport.
If you decide not to use the provided accommodation, reimbursement of expenses is only possible upon agreement.
Important Conditions:
Services are not provided if the delay is caused by force majeure (e.g., heavy fog, hurricane).
How to Receive Services:
Contact the Southwind Airlines representative desk.
Request written confirmation of the delay.
Keep all receipts if you had to pay for food or hotel yourself — you can later claim reimbursement.
