Snapchat Account Recovery Help for Longtime Users

I have been unable to log into my Snapchat account, which I have actively used for approximately eight years, for the past 2–3 months. I know the username and password for the account; however, I no longer have access to the email address registered to it. When I try to log in, it asks for a verification code, but since I cannot access the email, I am unable to receive the code and therefore cannot access my account.
I am the rightful owner of the account, and I have my username and password, yet I still cannot access it. Because I no longer have access to the registered email address, I am requesting that Snapchat support verify my identity through appropriate security procedures and update my email address so I can regain access to my account.
