Refueling Damage At Shell Station
On September 19, 2026, at around 10:42 AM, I visited the Shell Bayraklı Güney station in İzmir for refueling. During the fueling process, the station attendant repeatedly pulled out and reinserted the fuel nozzle and forced it into the fuel inlet while shaking the vehicle violently. This improper and forceful handling, which is clearly visible on the station’s own security footage, was immediately followed by the fuel filler neck breaking. After noticing the damage, I raised the issue with the station management, explaining that the problem occurred right after the attendant’s incorrect and aggressive use of the nozzle. However, my complaint was dismissed, and I was told that it was not their fault. The station manager also stated that their liability insurance only covers misfueling incidents and does not include physical damages caused by staff negligence. I hold the station responsible for the damage caused to my vehicle during refueling due to the improper behavior of their staff. I request that the full repair costs for the broken fuel filler neck be covered and that the incident, including the security camera recordings, be formally investigated so that similar situations do not occur again.
