Sephora Sold A Perfume That Doesn't Last, And Now They Don't Care
On 14.06.2026, I purchased a YSL Myself 100 ml perfume (eau de parfum) for ₺7,200 from the Sephora store in Mersin Forum AVM, through Sephora Türkiye Kozmetik A.Ş. While the tester I tried in the store remained clearly noticeable for several hours after being sprayed, the perfume I bought loses its scent almost completely within about 30 minutes of application. I tested the product again on different days and on different clothes, but every time I noticed the same issue: the scent disappears in a very short time and is not long-lasting at all. After these repeated trials, I went back to the Sephora store in Mersin Forum AVM in August 2026, explained the situation and only requested a product exchange. The store staff told me that they were only responsible for sales and that they would send the perfume to the manufacturer for inspection. After a while, they got back to me and verbally stated that the manufacturer, L’Oréal Türkiye, had sent an email saying there was “no problem with the perfume”, but this email was never shared with me. While I am clearly experiencing a serious lack of longevity with the product, trying to close the process by simply saying “there is no problem”, Sephora Türkiye shifting all responsibility to the manufacturer, and L’Oréal Türkiye not standing behind the product has been very disappointing for me as a consumer. I bought this perfume by trusting the Sephora Türkiye brand and paying a considerable amount of money, yet the product does not perform as expected and my grievance has not been resolved in the process that followed. The fact that L’Oréal Türkiye does not stand behind this perfume and Sephora does not protect its customer makes this situation unacceptable for me. I request that the perfume be either refunded or exchanged with a flawless product whose longevity matches the tester, and that the process be re-evaluated with customer satisfaction as the priority. Sephora, as a brand, has disappointed me by not standing behind the products it sells, and I am seriously considering not shopping from this brand again. I believe all consumers should take this situation into account.
