L'Oréal Post-sales Product Reliability And Integrity Issues

1

On June 14, 2026, I purchased a 100 ml bottle of YSL Myslf perfume for ₺7,200 from the Sephora store at Mersin Forum Shopping Mall, operated by Sephora Turkey Cosmetics Inc. The scent of the tester product I tried in the store remained on my skin for several hours, which is why I decided to buy the perfume. However, I observed that the fragrance of the product I purchased disappeared completely within approximately 30 minutes of use. To be sure, I tested the perfume again on different days and with different outfits, yet each time I encountered the same problem: the scent faded very quickly and its longevity was nowhere near that of the tester. Due to this situation, I went back to the Sephora store at Mersin Forum Shopping Mall around August 2026, explained the issue in detail and requested only that the product be exchanged. Store employees told me that they only handle sales, that they could not directly exchange the product, and that they would send it to the manufacturer for inspection. Some time later, I was informed verbally that the manufacturer, L’Oréal Turkey, had sent an email stating that there was no problem with the perfume, but this email was never shared with me in writing. Despite the clear issue regarding the perfume’s longevity, the matter was closed with the statement that “there is no problem with the product” Sephora Turkey shifted all responsibility onto the manufacturer, and L’Oréal Turkey did not stand behind the product. I find it unacceptable that a perfume purchased at a considerable price, relying on the reputation of the Sephora Turkey and L’Oréal brands, failed to perform as expected and that my grievance was not resolved. It has been deeply disappointing that a globally renowned brand like L’Oréal has failed to provide post-sales assistance for a product suffering from longevity issues, whether due to a manufacturing defect or another cause. I would like users reviewing this complaint to take this situation into account when shopping for L’Oréal products, and to consider the possibility that the brand might not stand behind its products if the quality falls short of promises, so that they do not experience the same disappointment I did by placing their trust in the brand's name. I request that my product be either accepted for a refund or exchanged with a problem-free item that has longevity consistent with the tester I tried in the store, and that this process be reconsidered with a genuine focus on customer satisfaction.
