Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Main Board Failure

6

I have been using my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for about 3.5 years. During completely normal use, without any drop or liquid contact, the phone suddenly shut down. After that, it entered a constant boot loop on the Samsung logo and stopped charging. On 11 August 2026, I sent the device to the Samsung authorized service BDH İletişim. The service stated that the main board and battery were defective and issued a total cost of ₺29,490.19 (including VAT). The parts listed for replacement were the main board, battery and adhesive, and a service record was opened with the number 4296329927. Considering that the second-hand market value of this model is around ₺25,000, I did not find this amount reasonable and therefore did not accept the offer. I then contacted Samsung Turkey customer service and the CEO Office and requested that this failure be resolved free of charge within the scope of customer satisfaction. Today I was informed that my request was rejected on the grounds that the device is out of warranty and is approximately 3.5 years old. I am aware that the warranty period of the device has expired. However, I do not find it acceptable that a high-priced flagship phone becomes completely unusable due to a main board failure after only 3.5 years of normal use, and that an amount of approximately ₺29,500 is requested for the repair, which is even higher than its second-hand market value of around ₺25,000. This situation has seriously shaken my trust in Samsung, even though I have been a long-time user of Samsung’s high-end phones such as the Note 9, Note 20 and S series. In addition, my brother’s S22 Ultra has also recently experienced a very similar sudden shutdown and main board failure. My request is not based on a legal warranty obligation but on Samsung’s customer satisfaction approach. I kindly ask Samsung to repair this high-cost main board failure free of charge and to resolve my grievance.

My device suddenly shut down during normal use and entered a continuous power on/off loop. I sent it to an authorized service center and was quoted a repair fee of 29,490.19 TL, but I did not accept that amount. I appealed to Samsung Turkey customer service and the CEO Office, but my request was denied on the grounds that the warranty period had expired. After filing a complaint on Şikayetvar, the brand did not get back to me.
