My Salomon Wander GTX Shoes Leaked Heavily but Warranty Claim Was Denied

I purchased the Salomon Wander GTX men’s outdoor shoes from Afium Manta Outdoor about a year ago, trusting the brand’s promise of waterproof protection through Gore-Tex technology. While the shoes had previously let in a small amount of water, I didn’t think much of it—until I wore them in heavy rain and they became completely soaked from every angle.
I returned the shoes to the store, which sent them to Salomon’s service center. Despite the fact that there were no visible tears or damage, my request for a refund or exchange was denied. The reason? They claimed there was no manufacturing defect.
This is unacceptable. I paid a premium for waterproof performance, and what I received barely matches a cheap pair of shoes. I will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board, and I will never purchase from Salomon again. Stand behind your products or stop charging premium prices.
