R.M. Williams Charged Me $200 For a Shirt That Frayed in Less Than a Year
For many years, I have been a devoted RM Williams customer who proudly supports an Australian brand. But the quality has clearly dropped as costs continue to rise, which makes the brand seem to be terrible value for money, especially in relation to what is provided on the US market. For me, the turning point was a checked shirt I paid about $200. Less than a year of sporadic wear later, the collar began to fray badly—something I would have expected from a somewhat less expensive brand. I have at least five pairs of their boots over the years, but given the cost currently, I could have purchased better-quality Carmina boots instead. Being Australian, I used to be proud of wearing RM Williams, but lately the brand seems to have lost direction.
