Qatar Airways Failed to Refund Ticket Canceled Within 24 Hours

On November 30, 2025, I purchased a ticket for a Zanzibar–Istanbul flight through Qatar Airways’ official website using my credit card. When the trip was canceled, I canceled the ticket in accordance with the fare rules and within 24 hours of purchase. Despite this, no refund was issued to me. Some time later, I received an email from the airline stating that instead of a refund, the ticket had been converted into an open ticket that could be used within one year. However, this option is not suitable for us because the passenger was a guest and this route is not one that will be used regularly. For this reason, I requested that the full amount of 404.80 USD I paid be refunded to the credit card used for the purchase, without any deductions. Despite sending multiple emails, I received only generic responses stating, “We are looking into the matter,” and no concrete action was taken. As of today, December 23, 2025, several weeks have passed and no refund has been processed. The passenger name is A** S*****, the ticket number is 157 21311140000, and the reservation / booking codes are 1A/7RC5Y8 and QR/7RC5Y8. I am requesting that Qatar Airways urgently refund the full amount of 448.80 USD, without any deductions, to the credit card used to purchase the ticket, in accordance with the cancellation conditions, and that the status of this process be clearly communicated to me in writing.
