I get “can’t reach VPN server” on PIA, how can I fix this connect error?

If you see “can’t reach VPN server” on PIA, first check your internet connection without the VPN and then switch to a different server location inside the app, as the selected server may be temporarily offline.

Change the VPN protocol to WireGuard or OpenVPN (TCP instead of UDP) in Settings and restart the app to refresh the tunnel.

If the error continues, disable firewall or antivirus temporarily to see if they’re blocking the connection, and reboot your router to reset your IP session.

You can also reinstall PIA or flush DNS (ipconfig /flushdns on Windows) to clear corrupted network cache files that prevent server access.
