I recently purchased the Philips 50PUS8909 Ambilight TV, and I’m already extremely disappointed. The setup was just completed yesterday, and the very first thing I attempted to do was install the essential apps I regularly use—BeIN Connect, Exxen, and Spotify. To my shock, none of these apps are available on this so-called “smart” TV.
Even worse, a Philips TV model I bought three years ago had full access to Google Play, allowing me to download all these apps with ease. Now, on this newer, supposedly more advanced model, I’m told I can’t install basic apps used by millions in Turkey? That’s completely unacceptable.
How can a global brand like Philips launch a smart TV in Turkey, without regional compatibility for Turkey’s most widely used streaming platforms? This isn’t a minor oversight—it directly impacts usability. I feel misled and frustrated.
I am requesting a full refund, or at the very least, an immediate firmware update to add these essential applications. If this issue isn’t resolved promptly, I will take further action through consumer protection channels. Fix your software or stop selling incomplete TVs in this market.
