I took a personality test through a company called Personalty Co on Instagram. They told me they would send my test results and requested a payment of approximately $1, which I paid using my İş Bank virtual card. However, afterward, I noticed that the remaining balance of about $2 on my virtual card was also charged without my knowledge or consent.
On top of that, within the same month, there was an attempted charge of approximately $31 made to my card. This transaction did not go through due to insufficient balance. As soon as I noticed this situation, I immediately replaced my virtual card and started closely monitoring my account activity. So far, I have not filed a formal complaint with either the bank or the company.
I believe that Personalty Co is using users’ virtual card information to attempt unauthorized and repeated charges. I am not pursuing the approximately $3 that was taken from me, but I strongly believe that this issue is not limited to me alone and that other users may be experiencing similar unauthorized transactions.
I request that a proper investigation and legal action be initiated against this company, that such unauthorized and unapproved card charges be prevented, and that the relevant authorities be informed so that other users do not become victims of the same practice.
