Oysho Forced Me to Use Self-Checkout and Refused Register Service
I am writing to complain about an unpleasant experience I had at the Oysho store in Cevahir Mall at approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 3. When I took the items I wanted to purchase to the checkout, the employees told me they could not process my purchase at the regular register and that I was required to complete the transaction myself using the self-checkout.
The line for the self-checkout was already very long, and I was told I would have to wait at least 20 minutes because purchasing through the staffed register was not an option. What made the experience even more frustrating was the attitude of the employees. Rather than answering my questions or offering assistance, they were dismissive, uninterested, and rude. Because I did not want to wait any longer under those circumstances, I left the store without making my purchase.
I do not understand when or why this policy was introduced, but requiring customers to use self-checkout while refusing service at the staffed register is unacceptable. Combined with the unprofessional behavior of the employees, it created a very poor shopping experience.
I expect Oysho to apologize for the way I was treated and to ensure that the staff at the Cevahir Mall store receive appropriate customer service training so that other customers do not have a similar experience.
