Seeking Compensation for Cancelled Flight (MyTrip)

I bought a plane ticket for my father through the SkyScanner App last year for a trip in mid-January to mid-February. What a bad idea!!! After his long and exhausting stay in Africa, we headed for the airport on February 12th. I want to say that he is a famous football journalist, accredited by FIFA for the CAF tournament. But at the airport, he understood that the flight with Ethiopian Airlines was canceled. No email, no sign, no nothing!!! The day before, he received an email saying that on the 12th, he had to be at the airport for check-in. Arriving there - AH, what a surprise, Non. Monsieur, this flight is canceled. Who is responsible for this situation? Who will pay? About the nerves, about the stress, about the sleepless night at the airport? Who will pay for the emotions that I experienced? Who will pay for the health of my father who stayed at the airport all night, no sleep, no hotel, no nothing???? WHO? Who will pay for all these inconveniences? And this is not a low-cost company.
