On September 13, 2024, I visited the Miniso store at Optimum Shopping Mall around 9:30 PM with my younger sister. Upon entering, an employee informed us that we could only shop in areas they hadn’t yet mopped, as they were cleaning the floors.
I reminded the employee that the store was still open, with 30 minutes left before closing, and I had every right to browse freely. The employee then claimed the register was already closed and continued mopping until closing time. While we were exploring another section, the employee came over and mopped directly over our feet and shoes, including mine, which were exposed in sandals.
The mop water smelled of chemicals, and my feet became wet and itchy on my way home. As someone with allergies, I found this incident particularly alarming, as I had no idea what chemicals were in the water.
I’m shocked by the unprofessional and harmful behavior of this employee, especially in a store that caters to children. I urge Miniso to address this issue promptly and ensure such actions don’t happen again. Employees should prioritize customer safety and well-being, not create discomfort.
