MAC Eyeliner Was Completely Dry When First Opened

In May, I purchased two MAC eyeliners in the same shade from the MAC store at Akasya Mall in Kadıköy, Istanbul because they were on sale. One of the Graphite Content eyeliners, with barcode number 773602594481 and the production code "AA5" printed on it, was opened and used immediately. I finished that eyeliner without experiencing any problems.

I opened the second eyeliner for the first time on September 25, 2026, and immediately noticed that the product was completely dry and would not produce any color on my eye at all. The pencil was essentially dried out, could not be applied properly, and did not function as intended. I purchased the product during my May 1, 2026 shopping trip and had kept it unopened since then, so I was very disappointed to find it in this condition.

There is no expiration date or information on the packaging indicating how long the product should be used after purchase or after opening. When I went to the store, the way I was approached at the Bağdat Avenue location, including suggestions that I may have previously taken the product out of its box, felt like an excuse and added to my frustration. I found these explanations inappropriate and irrelevant to the actual issue.

I trusted MAC's quality when I purchased this product and kept it unopened in its original packaging throughout this period. I believe the product is defective and request that it be replaced with a new, fully functional product.
