I purchased the L’Oréal Paris Lumi Glotion highlighter about 2 months ago, and from the very first application, I noticed an overwhelming and unpleasant odor coming from the product. Initially, I assumed the smell might be coming from my makeup brush, so I washed it thoroughly. However, even after using the highlighter 4–5 times, the strong, sour scent continues to persist.
The smell is similar to something spoiled or expired, which is extremely concerning for a face product. I’ve never experienced this kind of issue with any of my other makeup items, including other L’Oréal products. This leads me to believe that the product may be defective or has gone bad — even though it was recently purchased.
The batch code is 16Y500, in case further investigation is needed.
I’m requesting a replacement or a full refund, and I urge L’Oréal to review the quality and shelf stability of this product line. No one should have to apply something that smells off or potentially unsafe to their skin. Please take immediate action to address this quality concern.
