I Was Charged a Membership Fee on My Maximum Card
On September 15, 2025, a membership fee of ₺565.63 was charged to my İş Bankası Maximum credit card ending in 3357, which I noticed on September 25, 2025, and I have been waiting two days for a solution; although I contacted customer service, I was told the fee could not be canceled and would only be refunded once if I spent ₺54,000, which I do not accept, as my only issue is with the membership fee while I conduct all transactions through the Kayseri Melikgazi Sahabiye Branch, and even though I am unsure if my card is under warranty or commitment, according to Article 31/3 of the Consumer Law dated May 28, 2014, issuers must provide a card type without annual membership fees, and under Article 6 of Law No. 4077 on Consumer Protection amended by Law No. 4822, the membership fee taken by your bank constitutes an unfair term since it is charged without any service in return and cannot be negotiated, while according to the 2011/4736 E., 2011/11579 K. ruling of the 13th Civil Chamber and HGK 2010/1-93-88, there is also a definitive judgment that retroactively charged fees must be refunded, therefore I demand a full refund of the ₺565.63 membership fee without any additional conditions and the permanent cancellation of such charges.
