My iPhone SE Won’t Recognize “R” in Hey Siri

May 26, 2025 8:34 PM15

Hello, I’m using an iPhone SE with iOS 18.4.1. I can’t use the “Hey Siri” feature because it doesn’t recognize the letter “R” when I say it, and I have a lisp. This makes voice commands frustrating and excludes people like me who speak with speech impairments. I enjoy using my iPhone overall, but this issue is really discouraging. My spouse even makes fun of me because of this. This problem isn’t just with my model—it happens on all iPhones. Apple, please consider users with speech differences and improve Siri’s recognition for us. It would mean a lot and make the experience much more inclusive.
