ING Unauthorised Home Insurance Issue
During the process of obtaining a mortgage from ING Bank at the Eskişehir Tepebaşı branch, a home insurance policy was issued in my name without my knowledge or explicit consent. I was not provided with any policy documents, I did not give any written or verbal approval, and I did not sign any document regarding this insurance. On 18 April 2025, I noticed that a premium had been charged for a home insurance policy with the reference/policy number 32156417. This insurance was arranged without informing me and without obtaining my clear consent during the mortgage process. Despite this, the premium was debited from me as if I had accepted the policy. After noticing this situation, I contacted ING Bank customer service/the branch. I was told that this insurance is mandatory and cannot be cancelled. However, during the loan process, no detailed information was given to me about this home insurance, it was not explained that such a policy would be issued, and I did not provide any written consent or wet signature for it. I believe that the premium charged for an insurance policy issued without my explicit consent is unlawful. For this reason, I request the immediate cancellation of the home insurance policy issued in my name and a full refund of the amount charged for the policy. If this situation is not resolved promptly, I state that I will escalate the matter to the relevant legal authorities and regulatory institutions. I kindly request that the necessary actions be taken and that I be informed in writing.
