Hugo Boss Sunglasses Fog Up and Peel Within 4 Months of Purchase
I purchased a pair of Hugo Boss prescription polarized sunglasses from Mers Optik in Vialand AVM. Approximately 3–4 months after the purchase, a fog-like haze spontaneously developed on the lenses, ruining their clarity. Additionally, the gold-colored section on the inner left temple of the frame began to peel.
When I took the product back to the store, they stated it would be sent for inspection. Subsequently, on July 26, 2026, they informed me that the inspection result was rejected, claiming that the glasses were "exposed to excessive heat," and therefore no action would be taken. When I bought this product, I was specifically assured that the lens quality and features were far superior to standard lenses. It is completely unacceptable that sunglasses would be so easily damaged by heat and that this defect would be blamed on the user. I certainly did not put the glasses in an oven; I simply wore them under normal, everyday conditions.
I have been deeply frustrated by this product—for which I paid two to three times the price of standard glasses—developing foggy lenses and a peeling frame in such a short period. I demand that the inspection result be re-evaluated and that my glasses be repaired free of charge under warranty, or completely replaced if a repair is not possible.
