Hotmail Account Recovery Failed — Code Sent to Inactive Phone Number
I haven’t been able to access my Hotmail account (m****@hotmail.com)** for about five months. Even though I’m entering the correct password, the verification code is being sent to an old phone number that I no longer use.
There is no recovery email or backup contact linked to the account. I’ve followed all the steps provided by Hotmail, contacted customer support, and filled out the account recovery form, but nothing has worked. I keep getting the same message: “Correct identity verification required.”
My account contains important emails, linked accounts, and personal information. I have no access to my old phone number anymore, as I’ve changed it. The account was last used in Istanbul on an Android phone, and it did not have two-step verification or any extra security measure enabled.
What I expect from Hotmail (Microsoft) is to provide an alternative verification method so that I can securely regain access to my account.
