Cash App Unauthorized Hint Charge Attempt

On April 2, 2026, an attempt was made to charge my Cash App account in the amount of $29.99 by a merchant identified as “Hint.” This attempt was blocked only because my cards and account were locked at the time. I rarely use Cash App and have never knowingly signed up for or used any service, app, website, or subscription related to Hint, so this transaction was completely unauthorized. After seeing the attempted charge, I contacted Cash App / my bank and was advised to lock my card and account, which I immediately did. While I appreciate that the transaction was prevented, I am deeply concerned about how this entity or individuals obtained or attempted to use my financial information in the first place. I am worried that my sensitive data, such as my credit card or Cash App details, may have been accessed or misused without my knowledge or consent. Through this complaint, I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously, that the activities of Hint in relation to my account be formally investigated, and that any responsible parties be held accountable. I am also interested in pursuing legal action, including the possibility of a class-action lawsuit if other consumers have been affected in a similar way. My goal is to help prevent such incidents from occurring to others in the future and to ensure that my financial information is fully protected and not used without authorization.
