Delete My Data From Hinge
My Hinge account was first suddenly banned in 2022 while I still had an active one‑month subscription purchased through the Google Play Store in Australia. I was given no clear explanation of what I had allegedly done wrong, and my remaining subscription was effectively lost. I contacted Hinge customer support several times, but they were unable to tell me what specific rule I had violated. In the years since then, I have tried to create new accounts, and each time they were banned almost immediately after creation, even though I used different phone numbers and email addresses. My old account email was registered as deso***[email protected], a later account as dgodi***[email protected], and the most recent account, created yesterday with a new SIM card and my Google email address deso***[email protected], was banned during verification. This strongly suggests that Hinge is still retaining and linking my personal data in the background in order to block me from using the service. During my previous email exchanges with Hinge support, I explicitly requested that my personal data be deleted, but I was told that Hinge stores some data indefinitely. I find it very concerning that my data appears to be held and used to repeatedly ban me from the app without any transparent explanation or chance to correct supposed issues, especially when the app already gives users a blocking function if they do not want to interact with someone. I am formally requesting that Hinge permanently delete all personal data related to me and all of my past accounts from their systems and stop using this data to automatically ban any new accounts I create. I also want to be able to open a new account and use the service without being instantly banned again, as long as I follow the app’s rules. In addition, I expect Hinge to provide a clear, specific explanation of why my accounts were banned in the first place and to review its practice of banning users without explanation, given that many users online and in app store reviews report similar experiences.
