On 11/20/2023, I purchased my GoPro Max action camera from Media Markt. Relying on the clear statements on the product box and in the user manual that the device is waterproof, I used it only once in the sea during the summer of 2024, at a depth of less than half a meter. I experienced no issues during use. Toward the end of 2024, however, the device stopped powering on. I have full records of how I used the camera and the videos I captured; I used the product entirely in accordance with the conditions stated by the manufacturer and seller.
I submitted the device to Media Markt’s Mersin Yenişehir Sayapark branch under warranty and provided my receipt. However, the service center claimed that the malfunction was caused by user error, refused warranty coverage, and offered a paid repair. This decision was given to me in writing at the store. I also contacted Media Markt and GoPro customer service, and both stated that the device was not eligible for warranty service due to alleged user damage. Yet the product is still under warranty, and I used it exactly as instructed.
My expectation is that my device be repaired free of charge or replaced. I request that my issue be resolved and my grievance addressed.
