Gemini AI Wrongly Told Me I Won a Betting Slip — I Hadn't

June 23 7:16 PM

On June 23, I wanted to ask the Google Gemini app about the result of a 7-match betting slip I had played, to find out the outcome. The app told me my slip had won, that I was a winner, and congratulated me. Trusting this information, I happily took my betting slip and went to the betting shop. However, at the shop, I learned that my slip had actually lost starting from the very first match — it hadn't won at all. I had put down $15 on this bet, and if the slip had actually won, it would have paid out $368. Because of this incorrect information from Gemini, I experienced major financial disappointment as well as serious emotional distress. I had already shared the news with my friends in a WhatsApp group, announcing my "win" and celebrating, only to be humiliated in front of everyone afterward. This damaged my reputation, affected me very negatively on a psychological level, and even led to outbursts that I took out on my family. I placed this bet in person at a physical betting shop in Turkey, and my slip number is 300186. When I reached out to Gemini again about this, I didn't receive any satisfactory information or any response that took responsibility for the error. Giving a confident, incorrect "you won" response and then not standing behind it afterward isn't acceptable from a user's perspective. I believe I've suffered financial, emotional, and psychological harm from this. I'm requesting that Gemini take this situation seriously, investigate the matter, provide me with a clear, written explanation, and take responsibility for the financial and emotional damages I've experienced.
