I Face Unauthorized ₺229 FitMe Charge on Turkcell After Visiting Job Search Site
While browsing a job search website called “İşin Olsa,” a sudden pop-up notification appeared on my screen, covering the entire site. It asked me to enter my phone number for verification. Almost immediately after doing so, I received a message from Turkcell stating that ₺229 had been added to my phone bill for a FitMe subscription—something I never knowingly agreed to.
I have no interest in FitMe, have never used its services, and did not give informed consent for any subscription. What makes this worse is that Turkcell, my mobile operator, is aware of such third-party applications but takes no action to protect its customers. Instead, they pass the charges directly onto us.
I demand an immediate cancellation of this unauthorized subscription, a full refund of the ₺229 wrongly billed to me, and stronger measures from Turkcell to block predatory billing practices. I also urge authorities to investigate FitMe and similar unlawful services to prevent further consumer exploitation.
