Farmasi and Golden Rose Sent Verification Codes Without My Consent
I have been using my Bimcell phone number ending in 54 for approximately 7–8 years. Today, at different times throughout the day, I received unexpected text messages from Farmasi and Golden Rose (GRP Kozmetik San. ve Tic. A.Ş.) without my knowledge or permission.
The text message from Farmasi stated, "Dear customer, please enter the verification code in this message to provide your consent for communication and data processing," and included a verification code. The message from Golden Rose stated, "Dear customer, your Personal Data Protection Code and Electronic Commercial Message Code are... By using these verification codes, you will provide your consent to receive electronic commercial communications," and also included verification codes.
I have had no contact, membership, purchase, registration, or application with either of these companies, including today. I have never knowingly provided my phone number to Farmasi or Golden Rose. If an account, membership, or application has been created in my name, it was done entirely without my knowledge or authorization. This raises serious concerns about how my personal information and phone number were obtained and used.
I did not respond to either message or interact with the companies in any way because I believe this situation is entirely the responsibility of the companies and any third parties acting on their behalf. Verification or consent codes should never be sent to my phone number without my explicit request or authorization.
I am requesting that Farmasi and Golden Rose (GRP Kozmetik San. ve Tic. A.Ş.) explain under what record or account my phone number is stored, how my personal information was obtained, why these verification messages were sent to me, and whether any account, membership, or application exists in my name. If any such records exist, I request that they be canceled immediately, that all of my personal data be permanently deleted from their systems, and that appropriate measures be taken to prevent this from happening again. I also request written updates throughout the investigation until the matter has been fully resolved.
