Faber-Castell TK-Fine Vario L Grip Started Rusting

1

I purchased a Faber-Castell TK-Fine Vario L 0.5 mm mechanical pencil from Amazon some time ago. However, the grip section of the pencil started to rust and began giving off an unpleasant odor. Because of this issue, I can no longer use a product that I paid a significant amount of money for.

Although I have not had the pencil for very long, experiencing this kind of problem on the grip area has made me concerned from a hygiene and health perspective. It has also damaged my trust in the quality of the Faber-Castell brand.

I am requesting an exchange from Faber-Castell and Amazon for this defective product. If there is a risk that the same issue may happen again with this model, I would prefer to receive a comparable replacement product that does not have the same rusting or odor problem.
