I Got Charged €30 by Europcar Without Notice for Radar Fine Abroad

May 23, 2025 10:31 AM35

I’m extremely frustrated with Europcar. While traveling abroad, I apparently received a radar speeding ticket, which I understand can happen. However, without any prior notice, Europcar went ahead and charged my credit card an additional €30 (around ₺) without explaining why. No detailed invoice, no email, no justification—just a random charge.

If this fee is a processing charge related to the fine, then why wasn’t it disclosed in advance? Why wasn't I given the opportunity to contest or even understand the cost breakdown? This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially from an international company that claims to care about customer service.

I demand a full explanation of this charge and a refund of the unjustified €30. Companies like Europcar should not be allowed to withdraw money from customers’ accounts without consent or clarity. I expect a prompt response and resolution, or I’ll be forced to escalate this matter through my bank and local consumer protection authorities.
