On June 26, our Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul flight via Abu Dhabi, booked as a single ticket, experienced a one-hour delay in Abu Dhabi. This caused us to miss our connecting flight to Istanbul, resulting in a 7-hour delay in reaching our destination. Traveling with a 6-year-old child made this journey even more challenging. Despite repeatedly requesting meals due to the delay and being initially assured they would be provided, we were later denied access without explanation. After insisting, we were grudgingly allowed a single slice of pizza, which felt insulting.
Adding to the ordeal, a cabin crew member forcibly took a blanket from my bag, claiming it was not allowed, despite our child needing it to stay warm during the wait. This harsh treatment, combined with the delay, left us physically and emotionally exhausted, ruining our trip home.
The lack of care and unprofessional behavior from Etihad Airways has been appalling. Such treatment, especially from a reputed airline, is unacceptable. I will never fly with Etihad again and strongly advise others to consider alternative airlines for their travels.
