Economy Car Rental Denied My Confirmed Reservation
I was scheduled to pick up my rental car at Stuttgart Airport at 7:30 a.m. on September 25. When I went to the Europcar counter, which was handling my Economy Car Rental reservation, I was met by an employee who was rude and made no effort to help resolve the situation.
I had already paid the security deposit three days earlier, and my reservation had been confirmed. However, the employee refused to release the vehicle, claiming that they could not rent a car to someone with a Turkish driver's license. I explained that this restriction made no sense because my license is recognized across Europe and that I had previously rented cars in Germany without any issues. Despite this, they still refused to give me the vehicle.
Because it was a last-minute situation, I checked with other rental companies at the airport but could not find an available car. I ended up taking a taxi into the city and renting a vehicle from another company instead. My reservation was honored in advance, but I was denied the rental at the counter for a reason that was never disclosed before my trip. I would not recommend booking through this service.
