DistroKid Charged My Account Multiple Times Without Authorization
Although I paid for an annual DistroKid subscription, I discovered that between August 1–2, 2026, my bank account was charged 21 separate times for $4.95 each without any notification or explanation. I did not purchase any additional service or feature while uploading music, yet these charges appear to have been taken from my account under the name “DistroKid Extras.” These transactions were completely unauthorized and unacceptable.
In addition, I noticed additional charges on my bank statement for DistroKid Extras and Ultimate packages in the amounts of $48.51 and $885.18. I did not provide any approval for these payments either, and I was not informed about them through the platform or by email. Therefore, I consider these charges unauthorized and unfair.
I did not receive even a single email notification regarding these payments. I only discovered the charges by coincidence while reviewing my bank account activity. Due to this situation, I was forced to cancel my DistroKid membership.
What makes this issue even more frustrating is that I could not find any customer service phone number or email address where I could contact DistroKid. The only support option available was an AI chatbot, which was unable to meaningfully resolve my issue, and I did not receive any concrete response.
I believe that DistroKid applied unauthorized and non-transparent additional charges while failing to provide proper customer support. I request a full refund of all $4.95 charges taken from my account, as well as the $48.51 and $885.18 payments charged for DistroKid Extras and Ultimate packages. I also request a clear explanation of how these charges were made, what authorization they were based on, and a clear assurance that this will not happen again. Additionally, I ask that DistroKid urgently review and correct this practice to prevent other customers from experiencing similar problems.
