On March 14, 2025, I scheduled a DHL pickup for Monday, March 17, requesting that the courier collect my package directly from my home. I chose home pickup because I have a 2.5-year-old daughter and cannot easily leave the house. I paid a high fee expecting professional service and fast international shipping to Germany.
But instead, the courier called me just two minutes before arrival saying he couldn’t find parking and told me to come outside to hand off the package. I explained I couldn’t leave my child alone. He said he parked near the building entrance and demanded a barcode. I told him the email I received only contained a QR code, not a barcode. Instead of helping, he rudely said, “I’m leaving. Drop it at the Maltepe branch yourself.” Then he drove off.
He also caused a commotion by parking in the wrong spot, which led to an argument with my neighbors. Minutes later, he called me from his personal number. I returned the call within 3 minutes, and he said, “I was going to come back, but you didn’t answer, so I’m leaving.” Even customer service told him to return, and he still refused.
