I used a website called CV Maker last year and paid a one-time fee to have my CV prepared. However, after that payment, without any notification and without my consent, about $5 per month was charged from my Ziraat Bank debit card, even though I never agreed to any recurring subscription. About two months ago, in October, I requested that my membership be canceled and asked for a full refund of these unfair charges, but I was told very firmly by email that no refund would be issued, citing their terms and conditions. Although I received an email confirming that my subscription had been canceled, the company continued to charge my card for another two months after the cancellation, in November and December.
Because of this ongoing issue, I was forced to close my Ziraat Bank debit card entirely to prevent further unauthorized charges. The same thing happened to a friend of mine who used the same site in almost exactly the same way, which makes me think this isn’t an isolated mistake but a systematic problem.
I am asking that all unauthorized charges taken from my debit card without my permission between December 2024 and December 2025 — totaling approximately $65 — be fully refunded to me. I also request that an investigation be conducted into these unauthorized charges and that steps be taken to prevent other users from being victimized in the same way.
