Cupra Leon Puddle Light Defect Triggers Dispute Over Goodwill Warranty Labor Fees
For about a week, there has been a defect in the illuminated Cupra puddle logos projected under the mirrors of my standard 2023 Cupra Leon 1.5 e-TSI 150 HP. Consequently, I called the Doğuş Oto Esenyurt Cupra service center last week to make an appointment for today and brought my vehicle in.
Upon arriving at the service center, I was informed that my vehicle's warranty had expired. Even though my auto insurance and comprehensive coverage were arranged through a company they recommended, when I asked how acceptable it was that I only learned about the warranty expiration today at the dealership, they could not provide a clear answer. I was told I could benefit from goodwill coverage for the illuminated logos, which I accepted. However, after inspection, they stated that while 100% of the part cost was covered under goodwill warranty, I would still be charged approximately $79 for labor.
When I requested that the labor cost also be covered, I received no clear or solution-oriented response and felt brushed off. Although my vehicle's first routine service was completed at Altur and the second at Doğuş Oto Esenyurt, I believe warranty and customer communication were handled poorly throughout this process. Furthermore, this puddle light logo failure is widely known to be a chronic issue among owners and in various driver groups, occurring independently of user error.
Given that this defect is well-documented as a chronic issue and all my service and insurance history went through authorized channels, I do not accept being mistreated in this manner. I demand that the defect with the illuminated logos be repaired entirely free of charge—including both parts and labor—under goodwill coverage by Doğuş Oto Esenyurt Cupra service as soon as possible. Additionally, I request a necessary review regarding the deficiencies in warranty communication and customer updates.
I still haven't been called by them; what is this if not disrespect?
