Citroen Refused to Paint Rusty Door on My C4 and Only Offered a Replacement

Hello, I purchased my Citroen C4 Feel Bold in 2023 and have been enjoying it until I discovered rust on the inner side of the left rear door for no apparent reason, as shown in the attached photo. Since the vehicle was less than a year old and still under warranty, I took it to the local service center. They inspected the vehicle and said they would report the issue to the main office. After some time, the main office acknowledged the defect and offered to replace the door. However, I declined the replacement, as I believe it would decrease the value of my vehicle. Instead, I requested that they repaint the inner part of the door and compensate me for the devaluation caused by the defect. The service center promised to forward my request to the main office again. Citroen's main office delayed resolving my issue for over two months, constantly giving vague responses like "it will be resolved today or tomorrow," and I had to make numerous follow-up calls during this time. Eventually, I received a call stating that they would not paint the inner part of the door but could only replace it. Since this defect was not my fault, I find it unacceptable to agree to a door replacement that would lower the value of my vehicle. Given the possibility of more serious issues arising with my one-year-old car, I am now considering selling it. Due to the poor handling of my situation and the potential for this rust issue to be a chronic problem, I strongly recommend you think long and hard before purchasing a Citroen vehicle.
