Apple Refused My Refund After I Canceled a Misleading Makromusic Subscription
While downloading the Makromusic app through the iTunes Store, I saw a promotional offer advertising a three-month subscription for approximately $8. I selected that offer based on the advertised price, but I was instead charged $56. The enormous difference between the advertised price and the amount I was actually billed made me feel clearly misled and deceived.
As soon as I noticed the issue, I canceled the subscription through the Apple Subscriptions section within approximately 10 minutes, and I never used the subscription at all. Apple’s records should clearly show that the subscription was canceled immediately and that there was no usage. Despite this, when I contacted Apple, I was first told that I had to pay the outstanding balance before I could dispute the charge. After making the payment, I contacted Apple again, but this time my refund request was denied.
I have been dealing with this issue for nearly two months. While the payment remained outstanding, Apple severely restricted my ability to use the App Store by preventing me from updating or downloading apps, effectively forcing me to pay the disputed charge. Being required to pay such a large amount because of what appeared to be a misleading advertisement, even though I canceled the subscription immediately and never used it, and then having my refund denied, has caused me significant financial and emotional distress.
My issue also remained unresolved during a phone call with an Apple customer service representative on June 16, 2026, at 11:40 a.m., using the customer support number 0 (216) 282 15 11. Because Makromusic displayed what I believe was a misleading subscription price and Apple refused to issue a refund despite my immediate cancellation, I am requesting a full refund of the $56 I was charged. If this matter is not resolved, I intend to continue pursuing my complaint through all available official and online consumer protection channels.
