I Am Demanding Gaming Gen and AMD Replace Second Faulty Ryzen CPU
In 2023, I purchased a pre-built desktop system from Gaming Gen equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 processor. The initial CPU suffered a complete hardware failure after approximately 1.5 years of normal operation and was replaced under warranty. Subsequently, the replacement processor failed as well. Across less than three years of total system ownership, the machine has experienced two separate CPU failures.
When I contacted Gaming Gen customer support to report this recurring failure, representatives refused assistance, asserting that the replacement part did not extend the original system warranty period, which has now elapsed. They offered to replace the failed unit with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 only upon an out-of-pocket payment of approximately 7,000 TRY, refusing to offer any goodwill accommodation or cost-sharing for the price difference.
Experiencing two consecutive CPU failures on the same motherboard within three years points directly to an underlying hardware flaw, such as a defective motherboard, improper power delivery, or latent manufacturing defects. Denying support for a component that has failed twice in rapid succession while demanding full retail price for an upgrade is unacceptable customer service.
I demand that Gaming Gen liaise directly with AMD to investigate this extraordinary failure rate and provide an equitable resolution, either by supplying a defect-free replacement processor free of charge or by absorbing the cost difference for an upgraded model.
