I Canceled My Airbnb Booking Within the Free Period but Still Haven’t Received My Refund
I booked a property on Airbnb on March 26, with a free cancellation policy valid until April 1. On March 29, I canceled the reservation well within the stated timeframe. The platform showed that my refund would be processed by April 3, but as of today, nothing has been credited to my account.
I contacted my bank to check for any pending or incoming transactions, but they confirmed that there is no record of any refund attempt from Airbnb’s side. I also tried reaching out to Airbnb customer service, but the responses are foreign-based, and I couldn’t get any concrete help or escalation.
This is extremely frustrating—I followed all the cancellation rules, and yet my money is in limbo. I expect Airbnb to honor their refund policy and return the full amount immediately. Customers shouldn’t have to chase their own refunds for services they didn’t even use. I demand clear communication and resolution from Airbnb without further delay.
