Air France Baggage Claim c11141529 Unpaid After Bank Transfer Rejection
On March 22, 2026, I traveled with Air France on a flight from Istanbul to Marseille. Upon arrival, I retrieved my checked baggage only to find it severely damaged, with all of its wheels completely broken off. I immediately filed a formal damage report at the airport, and a claim was opened under Reference Number c11141529.
Following an internal review, Air France correctly acknowledged liability for the damage and approved a compensation payout of 5,101 TRY, which was initiated on April 30, 2026. However, due to a currency/account incompatibility, my receiving bank (Yapı Kredi) automatically rejected the transfer and returned the funds in full to Air France's originating account. I have repeatedly informed Air France customer service that the funds were returned, provided this exact tracking code for your finance department to verify the bounce-back, and supplied my updated Akbank IBAN as requested. Despite fulfilling all requirements, Air France has failed to re-issue the payment. It has now been over five months since my luggage was destroyed, and I am still fighting to receive an already-approved compensation.
Withholding passenger compensation that has demonstrably returned to your corporate accounts is an unacceptable administrative failure. I demand that the Air France finance department immediately verify the returned transfer using tracking code 7120518 and execute the pending 5,101 TRY payment to my active Akbank IBAN without any further delay.
