Academia Free Trial Turned Into an Unauthorized Annual Charge

I was using Academia under its free trial offer and never agreed to purchase an annual plan or any paid yearly subscription. However, at around 1:00 a.m. yesterday, approximately $65 was charged from my Garanti Bank account as an "annual fee." Before this transaction, I had never been charged by Academia, so this payment was processed entirely without my knowledge or authorization.

I contacted Academia by email as soon as I discovered the charge, but I was informed that the payment would not be refunded. Since I had only signed up for the free monthly trial, I believe charging me for an annual membership that I never approved is both unfair and misleading.

I request that Academia immediately refund the approximately $65 that was charged without my permission and provide a clear written explanation of why this transaction was processed.
