WhatsApp Scam Call Alert: Unknown +237 Number Contacted Me

At around 9:50 AM today, I received a call on WhatsApp from the number +237 6 78 96 88 92. After researching the country code online, I learned that this number belongs to Cameroon. Even though I have no personal or business relationship with this country, receiving such a call caused me significant discomfort. I blocked the number myself immediately.

I want to understand how and through which means my phone number was obtained by third parties without my knowledge or consent, how they gained access to my number, and how they were able to call me via WhatsApp. I am also seriously concerned about the security of my WhatsApp account and my personal data.

I clearly state that I do not accept any responsibility for any potential misuse, including my account information, phone number, private messages, or photos being compromised, or my identity being used to set up companies, make purchases, or incur debts in my name. I believe that WhatsApp would be responsible for any such violations. I request that the security of my account and phone number be ensured, that the necessary checks be carried out, and that I be provided with a clear and transparent explanation regarding this matter.
