Weplay’s “Cabinet” Game Encourages Gambling-Like Behavior in Children

I believe that the game called “the cabinet,” found in Weplay activity centers, is not suitable for children and creates an experience that feels very similar to gambling or betting. Even though real money is not visibly involved, children must purchase in-game gold in order to play the cabinet, and this gold is sold for real money. As children win—or hope to win—they are encouraged to play this cabinet repeatedly, which leads to continuous spending to buy more gold.

I think this system can negatively affect children’s psychology and their understanding of money, potentially creating habits similar to gambling and pushing families into unplanned spending without realizing it. It is also concerning that advertisements present this game as an innocent and fun activity while completely hiding the pay-to-play aspect.

I request that Weplay urgently review this type of game designed for children and specifically remove this “cabinet” system. In a children’s entertainment environment, there should not be games that encourage spending or create the feeling of gambling.
